European Materials Characterisation Council
The European Materials Characterisation Council (EMCC) is a European initiative set up at the beginning of 2016, based on and strengthening the existing European Materials Characterisation Cluster (created at the end of 2014).
- The EMCC is a bottom-up activity based on the involvement and support of a wide range of stakeholders.
- Coordination between European, national, regional initiatives and Member State support and contribution will be essential to reach full impact of the EMCC.
EMMC Involvement
EMMC is Member of Organisational Management Board

IAM-I
An open, Inclusive and interdisciplinary association gathering all interested stakeholders communities
The ambition of IAM-I, an international non-profit Association, is to establish and maintain a cross-sectorial, multidisciplinary, collaborative Europe-wide Research and Innovation ecosystem that will significantly accelerate the time-to-market of sustainable innovative advanced materials (IAMs) and associated technologies designed for a digital circular economy.
IAM-I will integrate all strands of stakeholders, from upstream developers, downstream users, citizens along industrial value chains enabled by IAMs. IAM-I will provide a common and shared framework covering all materials value chains, and needs and challenges along their lifecycles.

European Advanced Materials Academy
EIT RawMaterials runs the European Advanced Materials Academy and the RawMaterials Academy.
AMAcademy will offer:
- Industry Focused Courses
- Certifications
- Network of Providers and Trainers
EMMC Involvement
EMMC and EIT RawMaterials collaborate in the context of the AMAcademy, in particular relating materials modelling and digitalisation:
- Mapping of skills and training needs and fostering European networks in critical areas of knowledge
- Supporting industry through specialized educational programs
- Bridging the gap in conventional education by introducing breakthrough concepts in materials, leveraging the expertise of both parties to create cutting-edge educational content
