Overview of European Digital Materials Market Place ProjectsSeptember 30, 2020 / 15:00 CEST / Duration: 1 hour
Description:Both marketplaces have the objective to facilitate and promote the exchange between all materials modelling stakeholders, for the benefit of increased innovation in European manufacturing industry.These two projects are:
- VIMMP (https://www.vimmp.eu/)
- MarketPlace (https://www.the-marketplace-project.eu/)
These projects will establish a user-friendly, powerful web-based environment linking beneficiaries from different manufacturing industry sectors with relevant materials modelling activities and resources. To enable a seamless and fully integrated environment, marketplaces are built on solid taxonomy and metadata foundations, including those centred on materials models, software tools, communities, translation expertise and training materials.Digital materials modelling marketplaces promise to offer a substantial boost to all providers of tools and services, providing an open integration platform based on standards that will be pursued in collaboration with the EMMC (https://emmc.eu/ ). Thus, any software owner can easily integrate models and enable users to build workflows linking a wide range of models more easily. Databases and repositories relevant to modelling will be developed and integrated. The Translator function will be supported by semantic match-making and collaborative tools and access to education and training resources will be facilitated.These Marketplace projects include test cases covering a range of industrial applications from different sectors.
