The European Materials Modelling Council (EMMC) successfully hosted an online brokerage event on February 18, 2025, aimed at supporting collaboration for the upcoming Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025. The event, held from 14:00 to 17:00 CET, provided an invaluable platform for participants to share project ideas, explore potential partnerships and showcase their expertise in key areas, specifically in Innovative Advanced Materials Modelling & Characterisation and Materials Digitalisation.
With the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025 currently in its advanced draft stage, the timeframe between publication in spring and the proposal submission deadline in September will be notably brief. This urgency highlighted the importance of the brokerage event, designed to facilitate connections between EMMC Organisational Members and to offer competences aligned with relevant draft call topics under Horizon Europe’s Cluster 4.
The event saw a strong turnout, with 92 registered participants, including 60 from universities/research centres and the remainder from industry sectors. During the session, participants had the opportunity to present their project ideas and competencies related to the upcoming calls, fostering discussions in breakout sessions around potential collaborations.
To build on the momentum generated at the event, further topic specific events will be scheduled online, and Consortium building discussions will be organised in person at the EMMC 2025 International Workshop (April 8-10).
Presentations from the brokerage event are now available on the event page for review and future reference.
