Membership benefits

Associate Member

Any person who adheres to the purpose of EMMC ASBL can become an Associate Member.

Associate members benefit from access to a wide range of resources on the EMMC website, being kept up to date on EMMC activities and invitations to EMMC events, as well as the use of the EMMC online Forum for networking. 

Associate Members have the right to take part in the EMMC ASBL General Assembly but have no voting rights.

Membership fee

There is currently no fee for Associate Members.

Full Individual Member

Any person based in Europe who adheres to the purpose of EMMC ASBL can become a Full Individual Member.

Full Individual Members are core to the association and help drive the EMMC forward. In particular, they enjoy the following benefits:

  • Voting rights at the EMMC ASBL General Assembly which is the ultimate seat of power of the association, with rights for example to

o appoint directors
o accept new Full Members
o approve annual accounts and budget
o amend association statutes

  • The right to participate and vote in EMMC ASBL executive committees
  • The right to take leadership roles in EMMC Focus Areas and Task Groups, e.g. act as a Chair or Vice-Chair of an EMMC Focus Area
  • Full Individual Members from academia have the possibility to advertise jobs on the EMMC ASBL website
  • Taking a leadership role in the organisation of EMMC workshops and events
  • Access to members-only resources that will be elaborated by EMMC ASBL

Membership fee

Full Individual Member fee: € 150 plus VAT.

Full Individual Membership is annual and is renewed upon payment of an annual fee. A Full Individual Member can leave EMMC ASBL at any time by giving one month’s notice to the EMMC ASBL Executive Secretary by email.

Organisational Member

Any company, national organisation, legal entity, university, research institute, non-profit organisation, etc. with a presence in Europe, interested in the modelling and digital representation of materials and integrated computational engineering and committing to the aims and objectives of EMMC ASBL can become an Organisational Member.

The participation of Organisational Members is critical to the success of the EMMC, helping to guide and support EMMC. The EMMC is ready to receive their input and work with them on the development of best practices, standards, roadmaps, staff training, policy development, etc.

Benefits for Organisational Members of EMMC include

  • Right of up to three additional Organisational Member employees (beside main representative) to participate and take leadership roles in EMMC ASBL executive committees, Focus Areas and Task Groups
  • Access for up to three additional Organisational Member employees (beside main representative) to all members-only resources (e.g. training resources or benchmark reports) elaborated by EMMC ASBL
  • Interacting with other Organisational Members, for example in formulating collaborative research projects, facilitated by EMMC via its online Forum and Workshops. Interactions are facilitated by a dedicated and exclusive Organisational Members Forum
  • Organisational Members that have been admitted as Full Members by the AGM also have voting rights for one nominated representative at the EMMC ASBL General Assembly which is the ultimate seat of power of the association, with rights for example to
    • appoint directors
    • accept new Full Members
    • approve annual accounts and budge
    • to amend association statutes
  • Being recognised on the EMMC Website
  • Placing job adverts on the EMMC ASBL website at no extra cost
  • Discounts for EMMC workshops

Organisational Members must pay an annual contribution (see below) and are obliged to act in accordance with EMMC Statutes.

Membership fee

 

  • SME, less than 50 employees:                                           €      750.00 per annum
  • SME, less than 250 employees:                                         €    1,500.00 per annum
  • Industry, >250 employees                                                 €    3,000.00 per annum
  • RTD (Universities and not for profit organisations):      €    1,000.00 per annum
Note that the above rates are for specific geographical sites.

The Organisational Assembly

The Organisational Assembly (OA) is the body of representatives from the Organisational Members. OA meetings enables Organisational Members to help set priorities, hear about progress, and draw up recommendations from the Organisational Members.

 

The Organisational Assembly Chair and Co-Chairs

The OA elects a Chair and Co-Chair(s) with its membership drawn from representatives of the Organisational Members.

The OA Chair and Co-Chair(s) advises the EMMC ASBL Board of Directors on adoption of materials modelling and digitalisation, organisational and process issues, overarching strategy, roadmap etc.

They serve as a consensus-forming but non-voting observer member of the EMMC ASBL Board of Directors.

 

The OA elects the Organisational Advisory Board (OAB), with its membership drawn from representatives of the Organisational Members.

The Organisational Advisory Board (OAB)

The OAB advises the EMMC Board on adoption of materials modelling and digitalisation, organisational and process issues, overarching strategy, roadmap etc. At least one co-chair of the OAB serves as a consensus-forming but non-voting observer member of the EMMC Board of Directors.
