James Ren is currently a Professor of Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), UK. He has worked in several institutions in the UK including Uni. of Exeter, Loughborough Uni., Serco Assurance/AMEC. Prof. Ren is currently leading two EU projects: Individual Fellowship (Nu-weld, Dr J. Guo) and EU RISE project (i-Weld). The poster/discussion is focused on linking physical modelling and engineering research on welding and multicomponent carbides.
