Members of the EMMC related initiative published a new paper on "Social Media – the Art Nouveau of Communicating Research Projects to Citizens?"

Abstract

Visual media remain a valuable channel to educate the wider population, but the receiving screen has moved on to computers and handheld devices. With the emergence of social media platforms, we can now engage with global civil society more directly. With these platforms, there is a renewed importance and opportunity to use illustrations to convey content or accompany the written word. The last section of this paper is dedicated to YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Instagram and we will share how we use them to reach #civilsociety and how well we manage the Art Nouveau of becoming content creators and disseminating to the wider world.
