Abstract

Green Transformation @ BASF

As BASF, we want to contribute to a better world with enhanced quality of life for everyone. That is why we have firmly anchored the three pillars of sustainability – the economy, environment and society – into our corporate purpose, our strategy, our targets and our operations.

Hence, the presentation will give an overview on BASF’s the sustainability targets on CO2 emissions reduction as well as the „Sustainable-Future Solutions“ target aiming to transform our product portfolio towards more sustainability. Target achievement can only succeed with concrete indicators, which is what we provide with the product carbon footprints (PCF) for all our products and the TripleS framework for portfolio steering. And as it all begins with innovative solutions for the Green Transformation, the presentation will close with measures to guide research towards more safe and sustainable products in an integrated manner.

We believe that chemistry has a critical role to play in achieving greater sustainability. We are determined to move forward in this respect.
