Theodoros Tsatsoulis obtained his PhD in 2020 from Vienna University of Technology, specializing in quantum chemical wave-function-based methods for the study of molecular adsorption and dissociation on periodic surfaces.
After graduation, he received the Award of Excellence from the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research of Austria for his dissertation. He then joined the Fritz-Haber-Institute in Berlin as a Post-Doctoral fellow, where he developed a deep learning framework for predicting molecular energies through a machine learning model that provides a compact and accurate representation of electronic wave functions.
Since 2024, he has been a senior scientist at the National Technical University of Athens, focusing on the study of growth mechanisms of carbon-based nanomaterials using quantum chemical models within EU-funded research projects.
