Abstract

How Digitalization enables sustainable business models for materials characterization and modeling services

“Digitalization is the use of digital technologies to change a business model and
provide new revenue and value-producing opportunities; it is the process of moving to a digital business.” This definition from Gartner (2021) clarifies the most misunderstood word “Digitalization”. To create this new revenue chains and Business Models (B2B relations) are the essential starting point. The relationship between service providers and a SEP – Single Entry Point for e.g. OITBs must be defined in a clear and fair manner. The way to create sustainable business for the OITB i-TRIBOMAT will be presented as well as obstacles and barriers which could occur in such a process.
